Women Go Wild: A Path To Leadership

Only about one in three researchers worldwide is a woman. In some places, it’s even less than 10%. Not because women lack talent or ambition, but because the system still makes it harder to get hired, funded and promoted. And the higher you go, the fewer women you see. This is the reality we wanted to make visible.

To tell this story, we had to be right in the middle of it: We followed Dr. Kristen Hege, a leading cancer researcher and one of the few women to reach the top of her field on her mission. She took ten young female scientists out of the lab and into the wildness.

A film about women in science, courage and changing the system.

Together we set out on a multi-day hike through the vast, raw landscapes of the American outback. Far from distractions, there was space to truly see where you’re going. Long walks. Honest conversations. Challenging Moments. Physically and mentally.

Dr. Hege has spent her career at the forefront of cancer research and cell therapy. But what drives her today goes beyond science. She believes leadership isn’t something you learn from slides or strategy decks. It’s something you live, shaped by experience, challenge and self-discovery. That’s the path to leadership.
